What is GH & KH? KH (dKH) is a measurement of bicarbonates and carbonates in the water and often referred to as Total Alkalinity.
Carbonate hardness is the buffering capacity of the water. GH is a measurement for the total dissolved minerals in the water, mainly calcium and magnesium. These are vital for healthy fish. The recommended level for a healthy pond is between 8-12 GH.
How does KH affect pH? A higher KH level will make your pH much more stable, help prevent pH crashes and also provide health benefits.
KH is also vital for biological filtration as it is constantly being consumed by filter bacteria. A level of KH above 5 c is recommended.
Dosage; 1kg treats 10,000 litres . This will increase KH by 2 c and GH by 4 c.
Perfectly safe if overdosed.
When to use; Use regularly to maintain carbonate levels. Mix in a container and add directly into the pond. The water will go cloudy, but soon clear.
Harmless to fish, pets and pond life. Wash hands after use.
Dosage 100g per 1,000 litres ( 220 gallons)
1kg treats up to 10,000 ltrs ( 2,200 gallons )
